Cold-Link Logistics is a family-owned cold storage operator providing logistics operations and storage facilities for producers and farmers located near its seven facilities throughout the US. Cold-Link’s business model provides transportation and storage services, connecting local producers in the surrounding rural community with larger markets.
Cold Link has a facility in Ellisville, Mississippi, which is located in Jones County. The Mississippi Development Authority, which works to assist businesses of all sizes in developing in the state, had four top priorities for Jones County:
Cold-Link’s investment in Ellisville was widely supported by the community, and the MDA granted the company $553,600 through its Select Site program.
New Market Tax Credit proceeds were used as funding for equipping the 198,000 square-foot state-of-the-art cold storage facility with freeze blast capabilities. Cold Link’s investment in this in the non-metro community was one of the first entrants into a larger industrial site development. The company will collaborate with Jones County Junior College Advanced Training Center, located adjacent to the project site, to train and recruit community residents to improve the workforce skills of the local labor pool.
