This position is responsible for identifying and monitoring, applicable laws, rules, and regulations associated with the Retail Bank. Executes compliance risk management activities in accordance with enterprise compliance and regulatory standards. This position combines knowledge of and experience with compliance regulations and audit process related to the process and procedures that govern the Retail Bank. The position will be the lead point of contact for any risk, compliance and audit assessments and is responsible for helping to identify potential areas of concern to improve internal controls and reduce risk exposure.

  • Oversees and manages risk and audit reviews to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and bank policies and documents findings and meet assigned deadlines. 
  • Conveys information and position clearly, concisely, logically and in an organized manner
  • Manages an effective first line of defense risk-based regulatory program to ensure the bank is complying with all applicable regulatory laws, rules, regulations, and investor guidelines.
  • Works closely with the management team of Retail Banking and the front-line staff as needed
  • Assists with maintaining and updating regulatory bank policies while maintaining a comprehensive working knowledge of regulatory requirements utilizing multiple compliance resources (seminars, computer-based training, conferences, and manuals).
  • Provides Retail Bank training to associates regarding loans and deposits compliance needs.
  • Communicates with the markets regarding ongoing updates, training and clean up as needed.
  • Anticipates and identifies future needs, opportunities, and potential compliance solutions, and leads cross-functional teams through the problem


  • Bachelor’s Degree with 7 or more years work experience in consumer and small business deposits and lending
  • Knowledge of procedures, policies and operational processes that govern the Retail Bank
  • Knowledge of compliance management for mid-size to large bank.
  • Knowledge of banking industry standards, as well as internal operations.
  • Knowledge of risk-based compliance program.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Superior organizational and planning skills.
  • Advanced research, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
  • Advance decision making and problem-solving skills.



  • Extensive banking experience is required
  • Advanced knowledge of federal and state banking laws and regulations, for consumer lending, commercial lending, and deposits

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:  Must be able to sit for long periods of time and use computer keyboard and/or mouse, while viewing computer screens.
